DYNAGARD "E" (Environmentally Safe Wire Rope Lubricant)

Dynagard "E" is a revolutionary non-toxic environmentally safe wire rope lubricant which meets the performance levels of petroleum based lubricants in fluid film protection of wire rope strands.

Dynagard "E" also meets the operational requirements of all Kirkpatrick Wire Rope Lubrication System models providing optimum coating and penetration prolonging the working life of wire rope in addition to meeting environmental concerns of our customers.

In 2002, the US Navy revised it's MIL-G-18458B Wire Rope Grease spec. The new MILSPEC (MIL-PRF-18458C) is now split into two types; Type I and Type II. The Type II greases must meet the performance requirements of Type I, plus stringent new environmentally safe requirements contained in the Type II MILSPEC. Dynagard "E" meets or exceeds all the requirements of the new Type II MILSPEC. If you require a non-toxic, high-performing, environmentally safe wire rope grease... DYNAGARD E is the answer!

* LC50 Testing: Approved test method used to determine the lethal concentration it takes to kill 50% of the test specimens in a given time frame within an aquatic environment. In this case, the estuary shrimp species, Mysidopsis bahia was used. These specimens are 5x more sensitive to contaminants than trout which are the standard for our industry. No specimens died within the test period.

** Biodegradability Testing: Method used was the C.E.C. (Co-ordinating European Council) test CEC L-33-A-93. The average for the two control specimens were 39% & 78% respectively. Dynagard "E" proved to have a 97% biodegradability rating.

RE:   DYNAGARD "E" WIRE ROPE LUBRICANT
     Biodegradability according to CEC L-33-A-93
     File: 97001.hus

Dear Sir,

We are happy to provide you with the results of our biodegradibility tests (as per our conversation May/1997). The environmentally friendly wire rope lubricant, DYNAGARD "E", was tested according to the methods of the CEC Co-ordinating European Council:

"Biodegradability of Two Stroke Cycle Outboard Engine Oils in Water"  (CEC L-33-A-93).

The operating conditions were controlled by measuring the reference liquids RL 110/2 and RL 130/2 within the test run.

RESULTS:

Your product is 97% biodegradable.

Sample: Mean: Reference Value:
Dynagard "E" 97%*
Control: RL 110/2 39%* 25% to 40%
Control: RL 130/2 78%* 75% to 95%

*The data fulfilled the requirements of section 07.6 of the CEC test method.

Sincerely,

Hans Schellhase
Research Chemist
